Ang Sila Fish Bridge (New)

Chonburi City District, Chonburi.

The Ang Sila Fish Pier is a bustling fishery harbor brimming with fresh seafood trade. Originally known as Stone Bridge, it was constructed during the reign of King Rama IV. In 1956, the Ang Sila Fish Pier was built in response to the fishermen's demand for a public dock in Chonburi Province. Today, both fishermen and vendors set up their stalls on the pier throughout the day, creating a vibrant market atmosphere that is unique to this area along the Eastern Sea. Each stall is relatively large, making it a rare sight to find such a seafood market elsewhere in the region. It's a lively scene teeming with the essence of local life, featuring a wide variety of seafood at affordable prices. The trading begins at dawn, with fresh catches available for selection until late evening. Visitors can request that the vendors prepare the seafood with dipping sauces or buy styrofoam containers to take their purchases home. In addition to fresh seafood, there's also a selection of processed seafood products available, including the renowned Ang Sila stone mortar.
