The former city hall of Chiang Rai has been transformed into the Hall of Cultural Exhibitions commemorating the royal coronation of His Majesty the King. This venue serves to showcase the royal benevolence of His Majesty the King as well as the long history of Chiang Rai Province. It highlights the lifestyles of ethnic groups, traditions and cultures, and illustrates the current economic role of the province at the regional level. What makes the learning experience here even more enjoyable is the use of multimedia, such as videos and interactive displays, which enhance the exhibition and make visiting this museum far from tedious. Inside the Hall of Culture, exhibits are organized into six rooms: 1. **The Benevolence of His Majesty the King** - This first room features a permanent exhibition detailing the royal activities of His Majesty the King and the royal family in the Chiang Rai area. 2. **The History of Chiang Rai** - The second room presents historical information about Chiang Rai, ranging from prehistoric times to the establishment of the city and its evolution to the present day. 3. **Indigenous Peoples and Ethnic Groups** - The third room illustrates the ethnic diversity and cultural richness of the various communities living in Chiang Rai and its surrounding areas. 4. **Language and Literature** - This room preserves the collective memory of oral and written languages of the Lanna culture, documenting folklore, legends, medicinal texts, and teachings recorded on palm leaves and bamboo. 5. **Cultural Ties of the Five Cities** - The fifth room showcases the harmonious relationship and shared culture between Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Kengtung, Chiang Rung (in Xishuangbanna), and Chao Pha (Luang Prabang), prior to the establishment of nation-states that restricted these connections. 6. **Economic Quadrangle** - The sixth room illustrates the collaborative economic development among China, Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand, focusing on education, communication, services, arts and culture, as well as tourism.
