The City Pillar Shrine of Chao Por Kut Pong is an ancient shrine believed to be the dwelling place of the spirit of Chao Por Thongkom. The pillar is made of a royal tree wood, standing at a height of 179 centimeters from the base to the top. The top of the pillar is intricately carved and adorned with gold leaf. His Majesty the King performed a ceremonial blessing and inauguration of the shrine in 1982, and it has since gained a large following of devoted worshippers. The Chao Por Kut Pong Shrine and the City Pillar Shrine are located approximately 100 meters from the fountain roundabout, adjacent to Kut Pong Public Park.
