The fortress, built during the reign of King Rama III, was originally constructed to defend against enemy invasions. Later, during the reign of King Rama V, it served as a military base to suppress the Chinese uprising. Today, the Fine Arts Department has recognized it as an important national heritage site, and the area in front of the fortress has been transformed into a public park for relaxation and leisure for the residents of Chachoengsao. This fortress, which acts as the wall of Chachoengsao, is made of brick and mortar, stretching from east to west. It measures approximately 290 meters in width and 525 meters in length, with a thickness of about 1 meter and a height of 3 meters. The walls are adorned with five cannons of varying sizes, with barrel lengths ranging from 224 to 325 centimeters and mouth widths between 10 and 18 centimeters.
