Wat Pitulathiracharangsurith, commonly known as Wat Mueang, is a third-class royal temple situated on the western bank of the Bang Pakong River, at 156 Maruphong Road, Na Mueang Subdistrict, Mueang Chachoengsao District. This temple was constructed during the reign of King Rama III, upon the initiative of Chao Phraya Yomarat and Chao Phraya Mahayotha, who were tasked with establishing the new city of Chachoengsao. As one of the oldest and most significant temples in Chachoengsao Province, it serves as both a religious site and a landmark of historical importance, as it was built alongside the city's city wall. Unfortunately, the temple fell into disrepair and was abandoned after the Ong Yai Rebellion, which led to its destruction by fire. However, today, it has been designated as the official temple of Chachoengsao Province, breathing new life into its storied past.
