Wat Phra Borom That Worawihan is an ancient temple that has been a cherished part of the local community since the early Ayutthaya period. It is located in Ban Thai Mueang, approximately 4 kilometers from the center of Chai Nat. The temple was established during the reign of King Sri Thammasokarat, where the relic of the Buddha was enshrined by an Arahant, and a prang (a Khmer-style tower) was constructed using laterite stone to house the relic. Additionally, Wat Phra Borom That Worawihan serves as a sacred site for the ceremony of the royal ordination of every monarch. The water in front of the temple is considered holy and is also used in the sacred water ceremony, known as "Phiphat Sattha."
