The Navel Pillar of Chiang Rai or the City Pillar is a sign or symbol of the establishment of the community and the city. For Chiang Rai Province, the City Pillar is called the City Pillar. This umbilical pillar in Chiang Rai was built in 1987 on the occasion of His Majesty King Rama IX's 60th birthday anniversary or 5 cycles and to commemorate the benevolence of Mangrai, who dared to build Chiang Rai. On the occasion of the celebration of the 725th anniversary of the construction of the city of Chiang Rai, the location of the city's navel pillar is called Doi Chom Thong.
